Ponkotsu Quest: Maou to Haken no Mamono-tachi Season 8

Ponkotsu Quest: Maou to Haken no Mamono-tachi, or Ponkotsu Quest, is an original net animation series produced by the studio Pie in the sky, which premiered its eighth season in 2024. The series centers on the mundane, relatable, and often humorous professional lives of low-level monsters working for a Demon King, effectively parodying the tropes of traditional fantasy role-playing games through a workplace comedy lens.

The series was created, written, and directed by Matsumoto Mitsuhiro, who also provides the voice for several characters. The design aesthetic is intentionally minimalist, utilizing distinct 3D models with a flat, stylized appearance that emphasizes expressive character dialogue and comedic timing over complex animation. Since its inception in 2013, the series has maintained a dedicated following in Japan for its dry wit and its ability to turn repetitive, episodic banter into a long-running narrative success.
