Where it came from
Precure All Stars DX3: Mirai ni Todoke! Sekai wo Tsunagu☆Niji-iro no Hana was released in 2011 as the third installment in the All Stars crossover film series produced by Toei Animation. It was designed to celebrate the eighth anniversary of the Pretty Cure franchise, bringing together every lead character from the series' inception through the then-current Suite PreCure. The film serves as a grand culmination of the DX trilogy, focusing on the theme of a world where all the characters' worlds have merged.
The film was directed by Takashi Otsuka, who aimed to manage the massive ensemble cast by grouping characters into distinct teams, emphasizing both their individual magical styles and their collective strength. The narrative, centered on a magical flower that connects these dimensions, was received as a milestone in magical girl anime history for its technical achievement in animating such a large roster of characters. It remains a significant point of reference for fans, as it was the final film to feature the original iteration of the All Stars format before the series transitioned into more streamlined crossover features.
