Precarious woman executive miss BLACK GENERAL

Precarious Woman Executive Miss Black General, known in Japan as Zannen na Onna Kanbu Black General-san, originated as a web manga series created by Jin Tateishi. In 2017, the production studio Production I.G adapted the material into a short-form original net animation (ONA) series. The story functions as a comedic parody of the classic sentai genre, focusing on the titular antagonist, Black General, as she pursues a dysfunctional and often one-sided romantic interest in the superhero Braveman, while simultaneously leading her evil organization in failed attempts to conquer the world.

The animation style and narrative approach were designed to highlight the absurdity of the central character’s misplaced priorities and her inability to reconcile her villainous responsibilities with her domestic, romantic desires. As a production, the series was received as a lighthearted, niche title that emphasized character-driven humor over the high-stakes action typically associated with the tokusatsu tropes it satirizes. It remains a notable example of the studio's foray into short-format digital content during the late 2010s.
