Pyuu to Fuku! Jaguar: Ima, Fuki ni Yukimasu

Pyuu to Fuku! Jaguar: Ima, Fuki ni Yukimasu was released in 2009 as a cinematic adaptation of the long-running gag manga series by Kyosuke Usuta. Produced by the studio Kaeruotoko Shokai, the film utilizes the studio's signature flash-animation style, which prioritizes surreal pacing and minimalist aesthetic choices to mirror the absurdist humor of the original source material. It represents a notable entry in the experimental wave of anime adaptations from the late 2000s that favored stylistic idiosyncrasy over high-budget traditional animation.

The film follows the eccentric flute-playing protagonist Jaguar Junichi and his interactions with the aspiring guitarist Kiyohiko Sake. The production team aimed to capture the series' specific brand of deadpan comedy and rapid-fire visual gags that defined the manga's cultural footprint in Weekly Shonen Jump. Upon its release, the film was received primarily by the existing fanbase of the series, earning a reputation as a niche cult classic that effectively translated Usuta's peculiar brand of character-driven comedy into the film format.
