Where it came from
Ramen Tenshi Pretty Menma was produced in 2008 by Studio ARMS as a specialized animation project. It emerged from a period in the late 2000s when independent studios frequently explored the intersection of culinary themes and magical girl tropes, creating niche titles designed for enthusiast audiences who appreciated lighthearted, character-driven narratives.
The character design and visual direction for this project were aimed at capturing the aesthetics typical of 2000s-era short-form animation. The work reflects a focused effort by the studio to craft a whimsical tone, utilizing bright, accessible visuals that were well-received by fans of the genre who valued the studio's ability to maintain a consistent style within a compact, self-contained story format.
