RGB

RGB is a foundational color model utilized in electronic display systems, based on the trichromatic theory of color vision. It operates by adding varying intensities of red, green, and blue light together to reproduce a broad array of colors. The model gained prominence with the advent of cathode ray tube technology, allowing engineers to standardize how color information was transmitted and rendered on digital screens.

The development of RGB as a standard grew out of mid-20th-century television engineering and the transition from monochrome to color broadcasting. While it was not designed by a single individual, its implementation in computing and display hardware was driven by the necessity for a consistent method to manage digital color depth. It remains the universal standard for modern displays, favored for its efficiency in leveraging the physiological characteristics of human sight.
