A long time ago, Zeus, the great god, created a three–tier hierarchy of angels, top, middle and lower, although they were supposed to be equal. Also, Zeus appointed 6 angels as Saint Beasts who govern the animals of Earth. They were: Go, the seiyu; Shin, the genbu; Rei, the suzaku; Guy, the byakko; Yuda, the kirin; and Ruka, the hooh. However, Kira, the shooting star, and Maya, the fuga, didn’t attend the selection tests and left for the Earth.
The six angels fulfilled their tasks faithfully. However, because of Zeus’s increasingly tyrannical acts, they begin to mistrust him.

Where it came from
Saint Beast: Kouin Jojishi Tenshi Tan was produced by Avex Entertainment and released in 2007 as a direct continuation of the Saint Beast franchise, which originated from a popular series of drama CDs. The series expands upon the lore of the Six Angels, figures derived from Chinese mythology and reimagined within a fantasy context. This installment was developed to capitalize on the success of the 2003 television anime and the ongoing fan interest in the character designs created by illustrator Kaori Yuki, known for her distinctive gothic-influenced aesthetic.
The narrative follows the angels as they navigate internal conflicts and divine politics, maintaining the franchise's focus on character-driven drama and visual flair. Upon its release, the series was primarily targeted at existing fans of the Saint Beast audio dramas and the previous anime iteration, serving as a companion piece to the broader multimedia project. It is regarded as a niche title within the mid-2000s anime landscape, characterized by its emphasis on stylized character interactions and the established dramatic tone of the series.
