Sakura Wars: The New Paris

Sakura Wars: The New Paris, also known as Sakura Taisen: École de Paris, was produced by Radix Ace Entertainment and released as a three-episode original video animation series in 2004. It serves as a direct sequel to the 2003 Sakura Wars: École de Paris series, continuing the narrative of the Paris Combat Revue. The production was intended to expand the multimedia franchise's lore by focusing on the French branch of the Imperial Assault Force, utilizing the steampunk-infused aesthetic and dramatic character-driven storytelling that defined the original Sega-led gaming project.

The series design maintained the recognizable visual language established by character designer Kosuke Fujishima, whose work on the franchise remains its most enduring stylistic hallmark. Directed by Takayuki Hamana, the animation aimed to capture the operatic, romantic tone of the Sakura Wars universe, blending comedic interpersonal dynamics with the series' signature mecha-based combat. While it was received by a dedicated fanbase familiar with the broader franchise, it remains a niche entry that highlights the studio's attempt to bridge the gap between the game's interactive narratives and the television animation format of the early 2000s.
