Toyotomi Hideyoshi is on the verge of unifying the realm, and all that remains is the Odawara Castle protected by the "Lion of Sagami" Ujiyasu Houjou. Hideyoshi's personally trained generals — Ishida Mitsunari, Katou Kiyomasa, and Fukushima Masanori — as well as Ōtani Yoshitsugu, Shima Sakon, and Naoe Kanetsugu are all on the frontline of the battle. Amidst the battle formation are the two young warriors of the Sanada household: older brother Nobuyuki and younger brother Yukimura. As the stalemate begins to break down, Sanada Yukimura rides on a lone horse into the fray. His brother follows him right after.

Where it came from
Samurai Warriors, released in 2015, was produced by Tezuka Productions in collaboration with TYO Animations as a television adaptation of the popular Koei Tecmo hack-and-slash video game franchise. The series was developed to coincide with the ten-year anniversary of the Samurai Warriors game series, aiming to bring the dramatized Sengoku period narratives to a broader anime audience by focusing on the core conflict between the Sanada brothers, Nobuyuki and Yukimura.
The production sought to balance the frenetic, stylized combat typical of the source material with a more character-driven historical drama. While it garnered attention for its high-profile voice cast and its commitment to the established aesthetic of the games, critical reception was mixed, with some viewers appreciating the faithful visual representation of the game's iconic character designs, while others felt the narrative pacing struggled to condense the complex political landscape of the era into a traditional episodic format.
