Sangokushi II: Amakakeru Otoko-tachi, also known as Romance of the Three Kingdoms II: The Men Who Soar in the Heavens, was produced by Shin-Ei Animation as a feature-length television special in 1986. Following the success of the initial 1985 television special, this sequel continued the ambitious task of adapting Luo Guanzhong’s classic Chinese historical novel into an animated format for a Japanese audience.
