Where it came from
Sekirei: Hajimete no Otsukai was released in 2009 as an original video animation (OVA) bonus bundled with the limited edition release of the first season of the Sekirei anime series. Produced by Seven Arcs and distributed by Aniplex, the special serves as a lighthearted side story, deviating from the high-stakes combat of the main narrative to focus on the domestic dynamics of the characters within the Izumo Inn.
The animation maintains the aesthetic established by the television series, which was adapted from the manga by Sakurako Gokurakuin. This particular installment was designed to reward dedicated fans of the franchise by providing a comedic look at the Sekirei’s everyday lives, highlighting the series' signature blend of fan service and character-driven interactions that defined its mid-2000s television run.
