Where it came from
Released in 2010 by Production I.G, this special episode serves as a companion to the Sengoku BASARA: Samurai Kings anime series. It was created to expand the narrative universe of the franchise, which famously reimagines the chaotic Sengoku period of Japanese history through a stylized, high-octane lens that blends historical figures with anachronistic weapons and larger-than-life combat abilities.
The animation maintains the distinct visual language established by Production I.G for the series, characterized by dynamic action sequences and bold character designs based on the Capcom game franchise. This particular installment focuses on the naval rivalry between the characters Motochika Chosokabe and Motonari Mori, reflecting the series' tendency to dramatize internal clan tensions and strategic warfare within its heightened, fantastical setting.
