Seven Mortal Sins

Seven Mortal Sins, known in Japan as Sin: Nanatsu no Taizai, was produced by studios Artland and TNK and aired in 2017. The series was developed as a multimedia project by Hobby Japan, a company well-known for its franchise-based character figure lines. The anime serves as an adaptation of their existing figurine collection, which reinterprets the seven deadly sins as distinct, anthropomorphic female demons.

The character designs were largely derived from the original illustrative work associated with the toy line, focusing on an aesthetic of elaborate, ornate fantasy armor contrasted with dark, provocative themes. Upon its release, the series received attention primarily from collectors and enthusiasts of the source material's character designs, though it generally garnered mixed critical reception for its narrative depth and heavy reliance on the fanservice tropes established by the Hobby Japan franchise.
