Where it came from
Shen Yin Wangzuo: Yi Lai Ke Si Chuanqi is an original net animation released in 2022, produced by Shenman Entertainment as a cinematic spin-off of the popular 'Throne of Seal' fantasy franchise. It was developed to expand the lore of the source material, focusing on the character Yi Lai Ke Si, also known as the Necromancer Saint, to provide fans with a deeper look at his backstory and the origins of his formidable power within the series' established magical hierarchy.
The visual design and animation were executed by the core team at Shenman, who aimed to maintain the high-fantasy aesthetic consistent with the main series while incorporating darker, more gothic stylistic elements to reflect the necromantic themes associated with the protagonist. The production was well-received by the existing audience of the franchise for its polished CGI visuals and its success in humanizing a key antagonist, effectively bridging narrative gaps for viewers invested in the broader world-building of the Throne of Seal universe.
