Where it came from
Shitasaki kara Koi was produced by Studio AQUA ARIS and released in 2023 as an original net animation, or ONA. The project emerged within the contemporary landscape of digital-first anime distribution, where shorter, standalone episodic content is increasingly utilized to test audience engagement or showcase specific animation styles outside of the traditional long-form television format.
The animation reflects current industry trends toward stylized, intimate storytelling. While details regarding the specific character designers or directorial intent remain proprietary to the studio's internal production notes, the work is characterized by the clean, polished aesthetic commonly associated with AQUA ARIS's digital production pipeline. It was received as a niche entry within the broader 2023 streaming cycle, recognized primarily by enthusiasts of the studio's specific visual output.
