Sore Ike! Anpanman: Rhythm de Utaou! Anpanman Natsumatsuri

Sore Ike! Anpanman: Rhythm de Utaou! Anpanman Natsumatsuri was released in 2015 as part of the long-running Anpanman animated film series. Created by Takashi Yanase, the franchise centers on the titular hero whose head is made of bread, and it serves as a staple of Japanese children's media, emphasizing themes of kindness and nourishment. This particular entry was designed to be an interactive, rhythm-focused theatrical experience, stepping away from the standard narrative structure of the feature films to engage younger audiences with music and traditional Japanese summer festival themes.

The production sought to capture the atmosphere of a 'matsuri' or festival, incorporating classic songs and dance sequences that encourage viewer participation within the cinema. It was produced by TMS Entertainment, the studio responsible for the Anpanman series since its inception in 1988. While the feature-length films in the series often focus on epic adventures, this production was conceived as a shorter, high-energy musical companion designed to introduce preschoolers to the communal joy of Anpanman's world in a celebratory context.
