Ruby is an Aurora Girl who makes northern lights together with her kind. She is banished from Aurora no kuni (Aurora Land) because of her selfishness and horrible behaviour, and she is told to find a stone called Aurora no Shizuku that can grant three wishes. That way she will be forgiven. Ruby meets Anpanman and lies to him that she needs the stone to rescue her land. But when Baikinman is also interested in getting the three wishes, Ruby is torn between the choice of helping her new friends or being able to return to Aurora no kuni.

Where it came from
Sore Ike! Anpanman: Ruby no Negai, also known as The Wish of Ruby, was released in the summer of 2003 as the fifteenth feature film in the long-running Anpanman franchise. Based on the beloved children's book series by Takashi Yanase, the film series became a staple of the Japanese box office, traditionally premiering during the school summer holidays to entertain young children and their families.
The film introduces the character Ruby, a magical owl, and focuses on themes of friendship and courage that are central to the Anpanman ethos. Produced by TMS Entertainment, the animation maintains the warm, accessible aesthetic established by Yanase, aiming to provide a gentle, moral-driven narrative that remains consistent with the television series' design language and character archetypes.
