Stratos 4 Advance: Kanketsu-hen

Stratos 4 Advance: Kanketsu-hen serves as the concluding two-part original video animation series for the Stratos 4 franchise, released in 2006. It functions as the direct follow-up to the Advance series, finally resolving the plot threads concerning the meteor interceptors stationed at the Shimoji Island base. The production, handled by Bandai Visual and Studio Fantasia, sought to provide a definitive end to the story of the four young pilots tasked with defending Earth from incoming debris.

The series maintains the aesthetic established in the earlier installments, characterized by a blend of technical aviation detail and the lighthearted, character-driven dynamics typical of mid-2000s science fiction anime. Directed by Takeshi Mori, the animation focuses on the intersection of the pilots' personal growth and their high-stakes mission. While the franchise garnered a niche following for its specific interest in interceptor jets and base-life scenarios, Kanketsu-hen is noted primarily by fans for successfully wrapping up the overarching narrative arc rather than introducing major departures from the series' core style.
