Murakami made this movie in cooperation with Louis Vuitton, the handbag producer. It is more a commercial for Louis Vuitton than it is an anime movie, however the animation is quite special.

Where it came from
The Superflat Monogram project emerged in 2003 as a collaborative breakthrough between contemporary artist Takashi Murakami and the fashion house Louis Vuitton. Commissioned by then-creative director Marc Jacobs, the collection sought to dissolve the boundaries between high art and commercial luxury goods. Murakami reimagined the brand’s traditional monogram canvas by infusing it with his signature 'Superflat' aesthetic, which draws heavily from Japanese manga and anime culture.
The designs are characterized by a vibrant, multicolored palette applied to a stark white or black background, moving away from the traditional earthy tones of the classic LV print. This fusion was met with significant critical attention, marking a pivotal moment in the history of pop-art luxury collaborations. By blending Murakami's playful characters and flat color planes with the heritage of French craftsmanship, the project cemented the status of the monogram as a canvas for contemporary visual expression.
