Taiho Shichauzo No Mercy!!

Taiho Shichauzo No Mercy!! was released in 2002 as a special television episode produced by TBS, serving as a late addition to the long-running You're Under Arrest franchise. The series, originally based on the manga by Kōsuke Fujishima, follows the professional and personal lives of two female police officers in Tokyo. This specific special was produced during a period when the franchise was transitioning through various formats, aiming to maintain interest in the characters of Natsumi Tsujimoto and Miyuki Kobayakawa following the conclusion of the second television season.

The animation design for the special was handled by the production team at Studio Deen, who sought to preserve the established aesthetic that fans associated with the series since its 1996 debut. The episode was intended to provide a self-contained narrative that highlighted the signature blend of police procedural elements and character-driven humor that defined the franchise. Upon its release, it was received as a nostalgic piece of media for the established fanbase, providing a brief return to the characters before the series moved into its later OVAs.
