Tenchi Muyo! GXP Paradise Starting

Tenchi Muyo! GXP Paradise Starting is a 2023 original video animation series that serves as a direct sequel to the 2002 Tenchi Muyo! GXP television anime. Produced by Digital Network Animation, the series was created to further expand the expansive and multi-layered narrative of the Tenchi Muyo! franchise, specifically focusing on the character Seina Yamada and his involvement with the Galaxy Police. The project reflects the ongoing effort by series creator Masaki Kajishima to deepen the lore of the Jurai Empire and its complex diplomatic ties.

The animation style and narrative direction for this entry aim to bridge the gap between the character-driven comedy of the early 2000s and the more modern, detailed world-building that defines the recent GXP-related arcs. As an installment in a long-running franchise, it was received primarily by a dedicated fanbase familiar with the intricate interconnections of the Tenchi multiverse. The production maintains a visual aesthetic consistent with the series' later era, prioritizing continuity of character designs while exploring new political tensions within the setting.
