Tenka Touitsu Koi no Ran ~ Shutsujin! Saika 4-nin Shuu

Tenka Touitsu Koi no Ran ~ Shutsujin! Saika 4-nin Shuu was produced by UWAN Pictures and released in 2018 as an original net animation (ONA). This project serves as a spin-off extension of the popular otome game franchise Tenka Touitsu Koi no Ran, developed by Voltage Inc. The narrative focuses on the Saika group, a band of mercenaries from the Kishu region, set against the backdrop of the tumultuous Sengoku period. By expanding the franchise into an animated format, the studio aimed to provide fans with a more dynamic, visually realized experience of the characters beyond the static text-based interactions of the original mobile game.

The character designs were crafted to capture the signature aesthetic of the franchise, balancing the historical themes of the sixteenth-century warlord era with the contemporary, romanticized character tropes expected by the otome audience. The production team sought to flesh out the personalities of the four members of the Saika clan, emphasizing their unique battle stances and interpersonal dynamics. Upon its digital release, the ONA was generally received as a promotional companion piece that successfully leveraged the franchise's established visual identity to engage existing players through a new multimedia platform.
