Where it came from
Terror Man originated as a popular South Korean webtoon series written by Han Dong-woo and illustrated by Go Jin-ho, first serialized on Naver Webtoon in 2016. The narrative centers on Min Jung-woo, a protagonist who possesses the ability to foresee misfortune and dons a mask to intervene, blending elements of vigilantism with supernatural suspense. Its transition into animation was facilitated by the renowned South Korean studio DR Movie, a company with a long history of high-end animation production and collaborations with international studios like Madhouse.
The adaptation was crafted as an original net animation (ONA) to capture the intense, cinematic aesthetic of the source material. DR Movie aimed to retain the distinctive, sharp-edged character designs and dark atmosphere of Go Jin-ho’s illustrations, utilizing a stylized approach that emphasizes the psychological tension central to the story. Upon its announcement and subsequent trailers, the project was met with significant anticipation from the established webtoon fanbase, who sought a faithful translation of the series' dynamic action sequences and intricate plot twists.
