The Beginning After the End

The Beginning After the End originated as a popular web novel written by TurtleMe, which garnered a massive global following before being adapted into a serialized comic. The story follows King Grey, a ruler who is reincarnated into a magical world where he must navigate complex political landscapes and his own past traumas. The narrative has been praised for its blend of traditional high-fantasy tropes with character-driven development, grounding its expansive world-building in the emotional evolution of its protagonist.

The 2025 television series adaptation is produced by studio A-CAT, tasked with translating the intricate magical combat and detailed environments of the source material into an animated format. The production aims to maintain the high stakes of the web novel's darker themes while appealing to a mainstream audience. Early reception focuses on the studio's ability to balance the technical requirements of the series' combat systems with the character interactions that defined the original written work.
