The Dangerous Convenience Store

The Dangerous Convenience Store originated as a popular South Korean webtoon series written and illustrated by Koo-gu. It gained significant traction for its blend of romantic tension and slice-of-life storytelling, focusing on the dynamic between a part-time convenience store worker and a regular customer. The narrative's success led to its adaptation into an Original Net Animation (ONA) produced by the platform Laftel, aiming to translate the expressive, character-driven art style of the source material into a motion format for a digital-first audience.

The adaptation process involved capturing the specific visual aesthetic of the webtoon, which is known for its detailed character designs and distinct color palettes. In producing the ONA, the team focused on retaining the emotional beats and comedic pacing that defined the original chapters. Upon its release, the animation was received as a faithful expansion of the franchise, appealing primarily to existing readers while successfully navigating the transition from static web-based panels to a more fluid, episodic streaming experience.
