Where it came from
The Dangers in My Heart: The Movie was produced by Shin-Ei Animation as a cinematic continuation of the acclaimed anime series adapted from Norio Sakurai's manga. Released in 2026, the film serves to resolve and expand upon the delicate emotional arc established in the series, following the intimate relationship between Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada as they navigate the transition from middle school to the complexities of high school life.
The film maintains the signature visual language established by director Hiroaki Akagi and character designer Masato Katsumata. Their creative approach prioritizes a grounded, naturalistic aesthetic intended to mirror the internal growth of the protagonists. Upon its release, the production was noted for its success in translating the manga's nuanced, slow-burn narrative style into a feature-length format, receiving a positive reception from the series' established audience for its faithfulness to the source material's atmosphere.
