The Demon Girl Next Door Minis Season 2

The Demon Girl Next Door Minis Season 2 were produced in 2022 by studio AQUA ARIS to serve as promotional short-form content accompanying the second season of the anime series Machikado Mazoku. These shorts were designed to maintain audience engagement during the broadcast window, utilizing a simplified, chibi-inspired aesthetic that contrasts with the main series' detailed character designs. They were created to provide lighthearted, supplemental character interactions that were not essential to the core narrative but fleshed out the daily lives of the protagonists.

The character designs for these shorts were adapted from Izumo Ito’s original manga, focusing on the comedic friction between the series' leads, Yuko Yoshida and Momo Chiyoda. By distilling the characters into highly expressive, miniaturized forms, the animators aimed for a humorous, approachable visual style that resonated with the existing fanbase. Upon release, the series was well-received by viewers of the main show, who appreciated the bite-sized comedic tone and the creative flexibility allowed by the smaller-scale production format.
