Miyuki Shiba’s classmate Kitayama Shizuku is on her way to study abroad. For magicians, this is normally impossible, since allowing the genes of someone who can use magic outside their home country’s borders is tantamount to giving up national secrets. But it’s allowed to happen in one case—exchange programs.
And that’s how Angelina Kudou Shields, known as Lina, has arrived in Japan from the USNA to study at First High. Around the time Lina arrived in Japan, magicians began getting attacked by a mysterious being who leaves his victims drained of blood. Will Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba be able to discover the identity of the “Vampire”?

Where it came from
The Visitor Arc was produced by Studio 8-bit and aired in 2020 as the second season of The Irregular at Magic High School anime series. It adapts the ninth through eleventh volumes of the original light novel series written by Tsutomu Sato. The production marked a shift in studio leadership from the first season's Madhouse, aiming to maintain the high-tech, tactical aesthetic of the series while focusing on the infiltration arc involving the character Angelina Kudo Shields.
The character designs were overseen by Kana Ishida, who retained the distinctive, clean visual style established in the first season to ensure continuity for the fanbase. The series was designed to emphasize the technical aspects of its magic system, a hallmark of the source material. Upon its release, it received a focused reception from viewers already invested in the intricate lore and the reserved personality of the protagonist, Tatsuya Shiba.
