Some urban legends are best left untested! Yuuto Suoh gets more than he bargained for when he joins his childhood friend Mitsuki Shimoya in testing out an urban legend. When he uses his phone to take a picture of himself with the local shrine's divine mirror, he is whisked off into another world – one heavily steeped in the lore of the old Norse myths. Using his knowledge gained from school and from his solar-powered smartphone, he has the chance to bring the Wolf Clan, the same people who cared for him, to prominence, all while earning the adoration of a group of magic-wielding warrior maidens known as the Einherjar.

Where it came from
The Master of Ragnarök & Blesser of Einherjar originated as a light novel series written by Seiichi Takayama and illustrated by Yukisan. Published by Hobby Japan, the work follows a modern high school student transported into a world inspired by Norse mythology. In 2018, the studio EMT Squared adapted the material into a twelve-episode television series directed by Kōsuke Kobayashi, aiming to translate the series' blend of strategy, harem tropes, and historical fantasy for an anime audience.
The production process sought to capitalize on the popularity of the 'isekai' subgenre that dominated Japanese media throughout the late 2010s. While the series received moderate attention upon release, it was met with mixed critical reception, with some reviewers noting that the adaptation struggled to condense the expansive world-building of the source novels into a limited seasonal run. It remains a representative example of mid-budget light novel adaptations from that period of studio output.
