The Master of Killing Time OVA

The Master of Killing Time, or Himegoto: Jujutsu no Himegoto, was released in 2014 as an original video animation produced by Shin-Ei Animation. It serves as a single-episode adaptation of a specific segment from the manga series by Norio Tsukudani, which gained attention for its premise involving a male protagonist who is pressured into cross-dressing as a girl at school. The production was part of a broader trend of short-form anime adaptations that emerged during the early 2010s to capitalize on the popularity of niche manga titles within the otaku subculture.

The design and aesthetic choices reflect the studio's attempt to maintain the stylistic sensibilities of Tsukudani’s original character designs while transitioning them into an animated format. As a relatively low-profile release intended primarily for existing fans of the source material, the OVA was produced with a focus on character-driven humor and visual gags. It received a modest reception, primarily noted by enthusiasts of the gender-bending comedy genre as a brief, lighthearted expansion of the Himegoto universe.
