Where it came from
The Shiunji Family Children is an animated television series produced by Studio Doga Kobo, slated for release in 2025. The series is based on the manga written by Reiji Miyajima, known for his work on Rent-a-Girlfriend, which first began serialization in 2022. The narrative centers on a family of seven siblings living under one roof who discover that they are not biologically related, shifting the tone of their domestic life and complicated interpersonal dynamics.
The adaptation is brought to life by Doga Kobo, a studio recognized for its meticulous attention to character animation and polished aesthetic transitions. By translating Miyajima's character designs into a television format, the production aims to maintain the expressive, romantic-comedy sensibilities of the source material. As a project rooted in the popular rom-com genre within modern manga, its transition to screen is intended to capture the nuance of its central ensemble cast's shifting relationships.
