Where it came from
The Summer is a South Korean original net animation produced by Red Dog Culture House, a studio recognized for its distinct visual style and contributions to the broader webtoon and animation landscape in Korea. Released as a standalone project, it captures the melancholic and atmospheric essence often associated with modern independent Korean animation, focusing on quiet, emotive storytelling rather than high-octane action.
The animation reflects Red Dog Culture House's commitment to fluid character movement and atmospheric lighting, characteristic of their studio philosophy which prioritizes immersive visual experiences. The project was designed to evoke a specific emotional resonance with the viewer, serving as a showcase for the technical capabilities of the creative team as they transitioned from commercial work into more artistic, narrative-driven short formats.
