The World God Only Knows: Tenri Arc

The Tenri Arc was released in 2012 as an original video animation (OVA) adaptation of the manga series The World God Only Knows, written and illustrated by Tamiki Wakaki. Produced by Manglobe and distributed by NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan, this project was designed to bridge the narrative gap between the series' second and third seasons. It focuses specifically on the character Tenri Ayukawa, a childhood friend of the protagonist Keima Katsuragi, whose introduction provides critical emotional depth and lore regarding the overarching Goddesses arc.

The animation reflects the studio's commitment to maintaining the vibrant, rom-com aesthetic established in the earlier television series, while shifting toward the more serious supernatural stakes required by the source material. By isolating the Tenri storyline into an OVA format, the creative team aimed to dedicate sufficient screen time to the complex relationship dynamics that define this chapter of the story. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the franchise for its faithful adaptation of Wakaki’s character-driven storytelling and its pivotal role in advancing the plot toward the anime's conclusion.
