Where it came from
The World Hasn’t Even Started Yet is a notable track by the American indie rock band Margot & the Nuclear So and So’s, featured on their 2008 album Animal!. The recording emerged during a turbulent period for the band, characterized by creative disagreements with their label and a splintering of their creative vision, resulting in the simultaneous release of two distinct versions of the record.
The composition is recognized for its introspective, expansive arrangement and lyrical themes that touch on anxiety and the anticipation of personal evolution. The production reflects the band’s shift toward a denser, orchestral soundscape, often noted by critics for its ambitious scope and the earnest, narrative-driven vocal style that defined the group's mid-career output.
