Tianting Banzhuan Xia

Tianting Banzhuan Xia, or 'Heavenly Court Brick-Moving Hero,' is a representative example of the short-form animated ONA (Original Net Animation) series produced by iQIYI during the expansion of the Chinese streaming platform's original animation library. Launched to cater to a demographic favoring bite-sized, high-concept digital entertainment, the series employs a satirical lens to reflect on contemporary workplace culture, blending traditional mythological tropes with modern corporate tropes.

The production utilizes a vibrant, stylized aesthetic common in mid-2010s Chinese web animation, prioritizing expressive character designs and fast-paced humor to maintain engagement across mobile-first viewing habits. While it maintains a niche status compared to major feature-length domestic studio releases, it is viewed by industry analysts as a product of the strategic pivot among major Chinese platforms to cultivate unique, homegrown intellectual property for domestic subscribers.
