Tokimeki Memorial 4 ORIGINAL ANIMATION: Hajimari no Finder

Released in 2009, Tokimeki Memorial 4 ORIGINAL ANIMATION: Hajimari no Finder was produced by Asahi Production to coincide with the release of the Tokimeki Memorial 4 video game on the PlayStation Portable. The OVA serves as a promotional tie-in, introducing the cast and the setting of Kirameki High School to players, and maintains the series' long-standing tradition of combining dating simulation mechanics with high-quality animation to build fan attachment to the game's various heroines.

The animation features character designs adapted from the original game's aesthetic, aiming to capture the vibrant, sentimental tone that defined the franchise since its inception in the mid-1990s. Asahi Production focused on translating the game's visual style into a narrative format that highlighted the quintessential 'tokimeki' or heart-fluttering moments common to the genre. Upon release, it was primarily received by the established fan base as a supplemental piece of world-building that provided a visual bridge between the console experience and the franchise's broader multimedia presence.
