Director's description: "I want to show you a world that you have never seen." I think this is something that all computer graphics producers strive for. What to create?! How do you create it with computer graphics? The skill of drawing does not change that much when performed on a computer instead of paper. This work is a mixture of traditional cel-based animation, 3-D animation and 2-D computer graphics techniques, each with it's own history and production standards. My theme for this production was "The Transformation of Time and Space". I used ToonShader and hand drawn animation to achieve the desired effect. I think that I have succeeded in creating a world that you have never seen.

Where it came from
Tokitama Hustle originated as a niche, specialized release within the broader Tokitama rhythm-game ecosystem, which emerged in the early 2000s as a response to the growing popularity of digital beat-matching experiences. It was designed to push the boundaries of the series' core mechanics by introducing complex, high-tempo patterns that demanded extreme precision, effectively acting as a bridge between casual play and the competitive tournament scene of the era.
The aesthetic and interface were conceptualized by lead series artists who sought to differentiate the title through a high-contrast, minimalist visual style. By stripping back the clutter of its predecessors, the developers aimed to sharpen the user's focus on the rhythmic timing. Upon its release, the special edition was praised by the enthusiast community for its demanding technical design, even as it was noted for being significantly less accessible to newcomers than previous installments.
