Tokyo Revengers

Tokyo Revengers began as a manga series by Ken Wakui, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine starting in 2017 before being adapted into this 2021 television series by studio LIDENFILMS. The narrative follows Takemichi Hanagaki, who discovers the ability to travel back in time to his middle school years, attempting to rewrite history and save his former girlfriend from the Tokyo Manji Gang. The series blends elements of delinquent drama with science fiction, capturing a unique tension between teenage vulnerability and the gravity of criminal hierarchy.

Director Koichi Hatsumi and the team at LIDENFILMS sought to translate Wakui's distinct character designs and gritty, urban atmosphere into a dynamic animation style.
