Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head Kidou Kyuukyuu Keisatsu (ONA)

Tomica Hyper Rescue Drive Head Kidou Kyuukyuu Keisatsu was produced in 2018 as a direct-to-web original net animation following the conclusion of the primary television series. Developed to maintain engagement with the toy line manufactured by Takara Tomy, this project served as a strategic bridge between the main series and the subsequent theatrical film. The narrative continues to focus on the specialized rescue force utilizing transforming mecha, reflecting the franchise's core identity of merging emergency services with high-tech robotics to appeal to younger audiences.

The design of the series and its mecha units draws heavily from the aesthetic established by the 2017 television run, emphasizing sleek, utilitarian shapes that translate effectively into the physical die-cast toy line. By moving to an ONA format, the production allowed for a tighter, more focused narrative arc that prioritized the integration of new vehicle modes and equipment configurations. While intended as promotional entertainment for the toy ecosystem, it was received as a competent expansion of the Hyper Rescue universe, sustaining the brand's visibility during a transitional period for the property.
