Where it came from
Trinity Seven: Nanatsu no Taizai to Nana Madoushi was produced by Seven Arcs Pictures as a 2015 original video animation, serving as a companion piece to the 2014 television anime adaptation of the manga series written by Kenji Saito and illustrated by Akinari Nao. The project was conceived to satisfy demand from fans following the conclusion of the broadcast series, utilizing the same production team to maintain aesthetic continuity in its depiction of Arata Kasuga’s journey through the Royal Biblia Academy.
The animation features a distinct high-fantasy harem aesthetic characteristic of the mid-2010s light novel adaptation boom. Directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori, the production aimed to blend comedic slice-of-life elements with the series' signature magical action sequences. Upon its release, the OVA was generally received as a lighthearted expansion of the established narrative, praised by followers of the franchise for its faithful adherence to the source material's character designs and supernatural world-building.
