Tweeny Witches: The Adventures

Tweeny Witches: The Adventures is a three-episode original video animation series released in 2007 by Studio 4°C and Horipro. It serves as a side-story or epilogue to the 2004 television series Mahou Shoujo Tai Arusu, exploring the magical world through a series of vignettes that delve deeper into the lore and character dynamics established in the main show. The project sought to revisit the unique, surrealist visual style that defined the franchise, characterized by its vibrant, crayon-like textures and imaginative creature designs.

The animation was directed by Yoshiharu Ashino, who maintained the artistic vision established in the original series. The production aimed to provide fans with a more experimental and whimsical look at the characters' lives, focusing on individual stories that did not necessarily need to follow the main narrative arc. Upon its release, it was well-regarded by viewers for its commitment to the distinctive aesthetic of the studio and its ability to expand on the world-building of the Arusu universe without feeling strictly tethered to the original plot's constraints.
