Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise

Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise was released in 2011 as a television anime adaptation based on the popular Oizumi pachislot franchise, Kaitō Tenshi Twin Angel. The series was produced by studio J.C.Staff and directed by Yoshiaki Iwasaki, aiming to translate the vibrant, magical girl aesthetic of the source gambling machines into a coherent narrative format. By centering the story on high school students who moonlight as vigilantes, the production sought to leverage the existing fanbase of the arcade games while introducing the characters to a broader television audience.

The character designs were handled by Masahiro Fujii, who aimed to preserve the colorful, distinct visual identity established by the pachislot art while adapting it for the fluid demands of animation. Upon its release, the series was received primarily as a niche title, appreciated by fans of the magical girl subgenre and those familiar with the specific brand of lighthearted, action-oriented storytelling found in the original game series. It remains a notable example of late-2000s and early-2010s efforts to expand pachislot intellectual property into cross-media franchises.
