Where it came from
Ultrasonico was released by Nitroplus in 2017 as a specialized production, serving as a distinct entry within the company's experimental multimedia portfolio. Nitroplus, a studio widely recognized for its contributions to visual novels and character-driven narratives, developed this release to explore thematic intersections of sound and visual aesthetics. It functions as an avant-garde example of the studio's mid-2010s output, bridging the gap between traditional narrative media and abstract sensory experience.
The design of Ultrasonico reflects the studio's signature approach to polished, high-fidelity digital art, characterized by a sleek, minimalist visual language. It was crafted under the supervision of Nitroplus's internal creative teams, who aimed to move beyond the tropes of their standard character-based games to prioritize atmosphere and technological presentation. While intended for a niche audience of loyal fans, the release was noted for its departure from conventional storytelling, marking a deliberate stylistic pivot for the brand.
