「unravel」×『Tokyo Ghoul』TV Animation 10th Anniversary Collaboration MV

The 10th anniversary collaboration music video for 'unravel' was released to celebrate a decade of the Tokyo Ghoul anime, which first premiered in 2014. Produced by Studio Pierrot, this project serves as a commemorative synthesis of the series' enduring cultural impact, pairing TK from Ling Tosite Sigure’s iconic opening theme with newly animated sequences that revisit the transformative journey of the protagonist, Ken Kaneki. The video was crafted to honor the dark, atmospheric aesthetic that defined the show's initial run while acknowledging the significant role the music played in cementing the series' identity within the anime community.

The visual direction focuses on the duality of Kaneki's character, employing the haunting motifs and psychological depth that Studio Pierrot originally established in their adaptation of Sui Ishida's manga. By blending the high-energy composition of the song with refined, modern animation techniques, the studio sought to bridge the gap between the nostalgic reception of the 2014 original and the expectations of contemporary audiences. The release was received as a celebratory retrospective, highlighting the synergy between the show’s gritty world-building and the intense, emotional resonance of its opening theme.
