Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ TABOO NIGHT XXXX

TABOO NIGHT XXXX is a 2025 theatrical film entry within the long-running Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ franchise, produced by Shochiku. This project marks a continuation of the franchise's shift toward high-concept cinematic narrative experiences, moving beyond the standard concert-focused films that characterized earlier entries like Maji Love Starish Tours. It was developed to expand the lore of the fictional idol world by focusing on dramatic, thematic storytelling that deviates from the traditional idol performance format.

The film's visual and narrative direction reflects an effort to explore darker or more mature tonal shifts for the series characters. As part of a franchise that originated from a visual novel series by Broccoli, the film relies on the established character designs and emotional archetypes cultivated by the series over more than a decade. It was received by the core fanbase as a significant stylistic departure, prioritizing a distinct visual aesthetic that emphasizes the mysterious and dramatic motifs suggested by its title.
