Takuma Akutsu is not an attractive guy. In fact, his hulking size and ugly face have earned him the nickname "demon", which is ironic since all he really wants is to be left alone. But you know who never pays attention to what people want? The King of the Gods, Odin, who decides that Takuma is the one person who can save Earth from complete destruction.
As a result, Takuma finds his school, class and home all infiltrated by Odin's nine luscious Valkyrie daughters and, in order to become the Army of One that Odin seeks, Takuma has to use love to forge the Valkyrie's maidenly powers into the ultimate force for saving the world. Yeah, no pressure there, right? Can Takuma man up and ride all nine Valkyries to save the Earth?

Where it came from
Val x Love, also known as Ikusa x Love, was produced by Hoods Entertainment and released in 2019. The series is based on the manga by Ryosuke Asakura, which began serialization in 2015. It follows the narrative of Takuma Akutsu, a young man with a fear of human contact who is thrust into a mission to save the world by forming relationships with nine valkyrie sisters who must grow stronger through intimacy.
The adaptation was directed by Takashi Naoya, who aimed to balance the series' fantasy action elements with its harem comedy roots. Character designs were handled by Kiyoshi Tateishi, who sought to translate the manga's aesthetic into a fluid animation style suitable for the show's supernatural combat sequences. Upon release, the series was received as a standard entry in the modern light-novel and manga-inspired harem genre, noted primarily for its dedication to the tropes of its source material.
