VALHAIT RISING: Kandou e.

Valhait Rising: Kandou e. is a 2014 original net animation produced by Studio Colorido. It was commissioned by the Japanese game developer Gumi Inc. as a promotional vehicle for their mobile strategy game, Valhait Rising. The production served as an experiment in blending the studio's characteristic soft, painterly aesthetic with high-fantasy character designs, aiming to generate excitement for the game's release by showcasing its world and combat mechanics in a dynamic, short-form narrative format.

The project highlights Studio Colorido's early commitment to vibrant, expressive animation under the direction of creators associated with the studio’s nascent stage. While the game itself remained a niche entry in the mobile market, the short was received as a stylistic showcase for the studio, demonstrating their ability to adapt commercial properties into visually cohesive pieces. The character designs were crafted to appeal to fans of classic turn-based fantasy RPGs, utilizing clean lines and saturated color palettes to ensure clarity even when viewed on smaller mobile device screens.
