Eyes are magical spheres that make up dreams and retain memories. In our eyes, the visions of the within and of the beyond overlap. New worlds come to be when our gazes meet.

Where it came from
Vision was produced by Geidai Animation, the specialized department of the Tokyo University of the Arts dedicated to exploring the intersection of traditional artistic techniques and digital cinema. The project emerged from a pedagogical focus on experimental storytelling, aiming to push the boundaries of independent animation by prioritizing aesthetic texture and non-linear narrative structure over mainstream commercial conventions.
The film represents a collaborative design philosophy where student animators and resident faculty worked to fuse distinct visual styles, resulting in a cohesive yet highly abstract aesthetic. Upon its limited festival release, critics noted the work for its technical proficiency and atmospheric density, viewing it as a significant milestone in academic film production that demonstrated the potential for university-based studios to contribute meaningfully to the avant-garde animation landscape.
