Wan Sheng Jie: Gubao de Mimi

Wan Sheng Jie, or All Saints Street, originated as a popular webcomic created by Lingzi before being adapted into a highly successful animated series by FENZ. This specific special, Gubao de Mimi, serves as a thematic extension of the series' core premise, which reimagines classic Western mythological figures—such as demons, vampires, and mummies—as roommates navigating the mundane challenges of modern life in a Chinese metropolis. The production maintains the show's signature aesthetic, which balances high-energy slapstick humor with a vibrant, character-driven visual style that emphasizes expressive, fluid animation.

The creative direction for the special focuses on expanding the lore surrounding the ensemble cast while maintaining the gentle, slice-of-life tone that defined the original internet release. By placing these supernatural entities in domestic settings, the animators explore themes of cultural displacement and found family. Upon release, the work was well-received by the existing community of fans, who praised the continuity in character design and the seamless integration of whimsical supernatural elements into contemporary urban environments, further cementing the franchise's standing in digital animation circles.
