Where it came from
Wo de San Ti: Luo Ji Zhuan, often referred to in English as My Three Body: The Legend of Luo Ji, is the second season of a fan-produced animated series based on Liu Cixin’s acclaimed science fiction trilogy, Remembrance of Earth's Past. Created by the animator known as ShenyouGG, the project began as a personal labor of love using the sandbox game Minecraft as an unconventional animation engine to visualize complex cosmic concepts that were previously considered too difficult to adapt.
The production represents a unique moment in modern transmedia history, transitioning from a grassroots, amateur fan project into a high-quality, professional-grade animation series officially endorsed by the original author. The transition to the Luo Ji storyline marked a significant shift in the series' tone, favoring deeper narrative complexity and improved cinematic techniques, which earned widespread critical acclaim within the Chinese science fiction community for its faithful and innovative interpretation of the source material.
